Mark 3 Stop on Defect Tank Floor Scanner

MFE_Mark3_SOD_200The MFE Mark III Stop-On-Defect Tank Floor Scanner is an upgraded version of the Manual Operation unit that includes a motor to drive the tank floor scanner. This unit also features a new and improved fully adjustable threshold. Any signal that rises above the set threshold will not only stop the motor but will also freeze the signal(s) on screen so that the inspector can quickly identify the location of the defect in the tank floor. The SOD Mark III can be upgraded to a ColorMap unit with the addition of our software to the Toughbook.

The Mark III ColorMap Tank Floor Scanner is our fully upgraded version of the Mark III which allows its user to create a color-coded map of carbon steel loss across tank floors. This unit includes versatile software which allows inspectors to create a detailed tank floor schematic, view real time c-scan images and overlay the actual floor scans on each plate. The end result is a color-coded map of the tank floor that indicates precise locations of carbon steel loss in the plates. Our new ColorMap Mark III quickly identifies discontinuities in the storage tank floor for repairs.

Mark 2 Edgescan Tank Floor Scanner: PDF Brochure

1212-Mark-2-EdgeScan-300The MFE 1212 Mark II EdgeScan Tank Floor Scanner is a must have for storage tank owners. With the addition of horizontal wheels and a pivoting handle, the EdgeScan fits tight against tank shells, allowing operators greater clearance for more accurate and consistent inspection results. This unit is used as an alternative to scrubbing the critical zone (plate to shell) with ultrasonic testing, saving users both time and money. The EdgeScan offers the same Real Time Display and can be easily upgraded to the Mark III electronics and touch screen Toughbook.

The Electronic Processing unit of the Mark II Manually Operated Tank Floor Scanner has also been redesigned to incorporate a membrane switch panel to control all functions including on/off, gain, alarm, reset and display brightness. The display now uses super bright LEDs to allow comfortable viewing even in sunlight. The intensity of the display can be adjusted via the switch panel. The electronic processing has been carefully adjusted to provide more gain combined with a much improved signal to noise ratio.

The 2412 scanner folds down for easy transportation. The case is 28” x 19″ x 18” and has wheels, a collapsible handle and a keeper plate which allows shipment by air, in line with IRTR requirements. The function test plate now resides within the lid of the case.

2412-Mark-2-Manual-300The MFE 2412 Mark II Magnetic Flux Leakage Tank Floor Scanner represents the first model change in almost eight years of production to the original MFE 2412. Radical design changes allow for improvements in all areas, including the new user-friendly features. The careful redesign of the handle mechanism and relocation of the battery drastically reduces the amount of effort required to operate the scanner, while adding a significant increase in the power of the Magnetic Bridge.

With double the magnetic material, the new bridge allows the inspection of thicker plates or through thicker coatings than previously possible. The bridge has been completely redesigned to provide better protection of the magnetic material.

The relocated battery pack now incorporates a super bright white LED strip which provides just the right amount of illumination in front of the tank floor scanner and can be quickly removed to charge or for use as a remote light source. As with the original MFE 2412, the battery is capable of powering the system for over 12 hours of continuous use on a single charge.
